North of the road is the East Fork Access Wildlife Management Area managed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Approximately 1.75 miles into the trip, paddlers pass under the trestle of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. Several small tributaries find their way to the river long this route. Paddling the next 6 miles, not another road or railroad crossing is encountered until the Foster Bridge on County Road (C26).
